4. Product Options & Values

fmProductAttributes, fmEditProductOption, fmEditProductOptionValue - Product Options and Values Section

Options and Values data is used when creating and editing product Attributes. Zen Cart Product Options and Values allow you to define attributes that will be applied to specific products, such as color, size, style as well as additional cost if necessary. Store Manager for Zen Cart allows you to perform basic operations with options and values of all products at one place, instead of doing it through some product's menu.

Product options

In product Options/Values section you can find some basic operations which you can perform with the help of Product Options/Values toolbar.

Refresh button
  1. "Refresh data" forces Zen Cart list of product options to update. It is useful when you're changing connection or have any doubts e.g. whether the latest data were displayed or not.

2. Add "New product option" button calls blank "Edit product option" form, which is used to create a new option.

To call this action you can use product option context menu as well.

To edit Zen Cart product option you can double click on it or press "Edit product option" button using toolbar.

It calls Edit product option form for selected product option. You can change Product Option name, type. length and sort order here and apply changes pressing 'OK' button.

If you have a store running in more than one language you'll be able to see the language tabs in this form to write Option Name in any language available.

You can "Delete selected product option" from store using "Delete" button on the toolbar.

Or you can use product options context menu.

By deleting an option you'll delete all it's values as well and remove all the references. So if some products have let's say Color option, this option will be removed from all products that include it.

You won't be able to undo delete from store action, unless you've made a Database backup.

You can "Remove option from products" only with the help of context menu.

This action is similar to the previous one, but while deleting an option from products you will not delete it and it's values from store, but you will remove all the references to it in products. So if some products have let's say Black Color attribute, this attribute will be removed from all the products.

Expand and collapse

You can simplify options management by using Expand all or Collapse icons on the the toolbar.

Option Values

In product Options/Values section you can find some basic operations which you can perform with the help of Product Values toolbar.

2. "Add New option value" button calls blank Edit option value form, which is used to create new option value. Blank Product Option Value form has two fields:

"Option Name" and "Value name". Option name has to be specified (selected in a drop-down). If desired option doesn't exist yet, you'll have to create it first.

3. To edit product option value you can double click on it or press "Edit option value" button.

It calls Edit Option Value form for selected product option value. You can select Option name and change Value name here and apply changes by pressing 'OK' button.
